ON CAMPUS YEAR ROUND

THE BRIEF 

 

McDonalds were looking to tour their airstream across 10 UK universities starting in Scotland. We were tasked with finding universities with high footfall outdoor space along with the ability to host generators, chiller trucks and more. 

We needed to ensure that each university selected for the tour could pre-promote the event to students, ensuring that they were aware of the activation, creating excitement ahead of the tour. McDonalds wanted to ensure that the tour was inclusive and didn't just reach freshers so the activity was planned a few weeks after the traditional freshers fairs.

We worked closely with our SU partners across the UK media planning and buying to ensure that we could fulfil the campaign deliverables in every sense. From booking site spaces and Instagram stories, we helped McDonalds deliver one of the most exciting student campaigns of the year which was picked up by all major news providers. 

 

Highlights from the tour:

> THE 10 STOP NATIONAL UK VAN TOUR WAS THE ONLY PLACE IN THE UK WHERE YOU COULD GET YOUR HANDS ON MCMUFFINS AFTER 11AM

> THEY SERVED A CHOICE OF VEGGIE (CHEESE & EGG) OR MEAT (BACON, EGG & CHEESE) TO LUCKY STUDENTS FROM 11AM – 4PM

> THE FIRST 100 STUDENTS TO ATTEND EACH POP-UP RECEIVED A MONEY-CAN’T-BUY MCDONALD’S MERCH ITEM 

> THEY ALSO OFFERD STUDENTS IN LINE AN OFFER TO RECEIVE 20% DISCOUNT OFF A FUTURE MCDELIVERY ORDER ON THE MCDONALD’S APP

> IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH, THEIR PARTNERS AT COCA-COLA PROVIDED A FREE MINI CAN SAMPLE TO ACCOMPANY EACH MCMUFFIN
